A woman sitting alone on a park bench, leaning forward, her head held in her hand. She has an exasperated expression. The picture is diluted and the atmosphere is grey.

We wholeheartedly agree witht his statement! And we're definitely not surprised it comes from someone who's already a cat pawrent, who knows the responsibility needed to care for an animal. It's taking care of another soul with needs, feelings, and a whole life of their own - which you're committed to be responssible for.
Also, a person who sees this in the adopted kitten. We're not surprised that someone who sees the lack of commitment and responsibility for another living being (a precious cat, of all things) as a red flag, has a moral compass guiding them away from that person. Long-lasting relationship or not - the moment your moral compass doesn't allow you to align yourself with your partner's actions, it's probably time to go. And when it comes to morality and cats, as cat pawrents, we know the cat comes first.

That's very true. All people have their breaking points. Mostly, when it comes to morality clashes, when we're talking about relationships. A person who values the well-being of a kitten, who was supposed to be taken care of by their partner, who in turn throws all the responsibility into the bin, is definitely a valid breaking point. We'd probably feel the same.
